Refurbishment work on our Sylvan Ward is now complete. The modernised ward will enable patients and families to receive the excellent and personal care for which St Nicholas Hospice Care is renowned.
The refurbishment of the 12 bedded ward has been designed with patients at the very heart of it. All rooms have:
a view of the beautiful garden
air conditioning
individual flat screen TVs
‘no touch’ taps
special night lighting
wireless internet access
Flooring throughout the Ward has been replaced with a hygienic, easy–to-clean linoleum material. The bathrooms have been redesigned, and there is improved storage for clinical materials. There will also be improved facilities for family members to stay overnight.

I am delighted that we will now be able to offer a ward that complements our staff in terms of excellence and comfort, a ward that our patients deserve”.
Sylvan Ward is now fully operational, enabling St Nicholas Hospice Care to return to its full capacity of 12 beds.
